High Performance Step Down Regulator From Solid State Supplies Has Triple Output
A new triple output step down switching regulator which provides three high current, independent, adjustable, high performance, switching regulator outputs with an input voltage range of 4.5V to 34V, is now available from Solid State Supplies.

With a maximum current of 2A, each output is adjustable from 0.8V to 5V while multiphase switching reduces EMI and minimises the stress on input capacitors by interleaving the turn-on cycle of the regulators. Features like soft start, power on reset option and a small 4x4mm QFN package make this new device ideally suited to any portable office automation, and consumer applications.
Fixed frequency switching of 550kHz enables designers to use small, inexpensive inductors and ceramic output capacitors. A charge pump provides the supply to drive switches to ensure operation at very wide operating duty cycles and to avoid using power draining clamp circuits.
A power-on-reset circuit with user configurable delay indicates programmable delay shows when enabled regulators are in specification. The power-on-reset flag also indicates when the input voltage drops below specification, giving the system controller advance warning while the switchers continue to operate down to the shutdown level. Another feature of the device is the built-in comprehensive protection against overloads, input under voltages and over temperatures
