Designed to meet the requirements of today’s cost-sensitive, standard definition (SD) consumer and industrial video applications, two new low power, triple video amplifiers from Solid State Supplies consume just 26.4mW and provide industry leading differential gain/phase (0.05%/0.02°).

The Comlinear CLC3800 and CLC3801 amplifiers feature integrated 8MHz, 4th-order low pass filters designed to pass SD video signals while filtering out noise and other unwanted signals, resulting in a crisper, cleaner video signal. They also integrate high-performance, fixed-gain video drivers. The CLC3800 offers a fixed gain of 6dB but if additional gain is required, the CLC3801 video amplifier provides 9dB. The two gain options make the amplifiers well suited for use with a variety of video DACs and encoders.
Each channel of the CLC3800 or CLC3801 can drive two AC- or DC-coupled video loads enabling STB, PVR, LCDTV, portable DVD, or video surveillance systems to provide additional output configurations such as dual RGB, YPbPr or YUV; 2 S-Video and dual CV or 6 CV channels.
A further major benefit of these components is that, due to their low power requirements, heat generation is kept to the absolute minimum making them even more suited to portable applications.
